Visit the BLOODHOUND Technical Centre near Bristol with your family and you can design, build and race your own Rocket Car.
Our exciting family workshops are aimed at families with children aged from 6 years upwards. A truly inspiring event, they are great fun and a brilliant way to entertain children – and adults!
The BLOODHOUND Engineering Adventure provides a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers.
You’ll experience an interactive presentation on the science and engineering behind the jet- and rocket-powered BLOODHOUND SSC, followed by an interactive tour of the workshop, including seeing the progress of the world’s first 1,000mph car.
Your children will then get down to the important job of designing their own Rocket Car racers. Crafted from blocks of foam, they are cut to the shape and size your child chooses, and then fitted with axles, wheels and eyelets on the underside to hold the car on to the guide wire. Everyone then heads out to the car park to race their cars, where they'll reach speeds of up to 55mph.
Our Technical Centre is within easy reach of good transport links, including the M5 and direct trains to Bristol Temple Meads. Free parking is available next to the Technical Centre.
