Wednesday, 24 August, 2016

When: Summer Holiday from Wednesday 24th to Friday 26th August, 9am and 1pm start

Where: BLOODHOUND Technical Centre, Avonmouth, Bristol

The Team invite you to design, build and race your own rocket car as part in an exciting family workshop at their Technical Centre in Avonmouth, Bristol. The workshop is aimed at families with children from 6 years and upwards.

Following an interactive presentation on the science and engineering behind the jet and rocket powered BLOODHOUND SSC and an interactive tour of the workshop, including the 1,000mph car its self, from our "Chief Inspirer", Rob Bennett, your children will get down to the important job of designing their own rocket car racers.

Crafted from blocks of foam, the model rocket cars come in all shapes and sizes and once fitted with axles, wheels and eyelets on the underside to hold the car on to the guide wire, the teams will head out to the car park for racing where they'll reach speeds of up to 55mph.

The rocket car workshops run from  9am to 12pm and 1:00pm to 4:00pm from Wednesday 24th to Friday 26th August . They will cover topics including; the science around the car,  a tour of the actual BLOODHOUND Supersonic Car and a practical 'hands on' rocket car workshop. Refreshments and goodie bag is included in a cost of

£15 per person (including parents and guardians), children five and under are free.
