On Friday 27th BLOODHOUND's Race For The Line stand was recognised as Best of Bett at the BETT Show, as voted by some of the 40,000 students who attended Europe's largest education event.
BLOODHOUND, together with partners Microsoft and The Learning Partnership are running the UK's largest STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) initiative. Over 100,000 students from across the UK are designing, building and racing model rocket cars as part of a national competition called 'Race For The Line'.
Visitors to the stand were able to get a taste of the competition during the BETT Show with over 600 rocket cars built and raced through the tunnel. The velocity of each vehicle was tracked using onboard BBC micro:bit controllers which generate data the student can use to fine-tune the aerodynamic shape of their racing cars.
