Terry on the BLOODHOUND Build Team is trial assembling the hardest working tail fin in history. Measuring two metres high, it has 100 bespoke machined aluminium parts and it has to be accurate to a 10th of a millimeter!
The BLOODHOUND Build Team have trial fitted temporary plywood air brake doors to ensure the hinges align properly. It's quite tricky because the doors have a double compound curve (they have a 3 dimensional curve). The final doors will be manufactured from carbon fibre, foam and a little steel.
The BLOODHOUND Supersonic Car kit contains over 3,500 components, many custom-made, including: a state-of-the-art Rolls-Royce EJ200 jet engine - normally found in the Eurofighter Typhoon
Like many people, we got a model kit this Christmas......
